Additional Faculty Educational Support Services

Germanna Libraries

Academic librarians collaborate with faculty to support student development of information literacy and faculty use of Open Educational Resources (OER).  One way academic librarians support student development of information literacy is through course-embedded library instructional sessions, tailored to specific course assignments and learning outcomes.  In a 75 minute class session, librarians focus on 2 learning outcomes (click here for more information). Academic librarians are available to answer a variety of information literacy, library, and OER related questions. Phone: 540-834-1965 or Email mpierce@germanna.edu.

Innovative Instruction & Technology

Innovative instruction and technology designers collaborate with faculty to infuse courses with technology to support student development of 21st century skills. One way designers do this is through professional development activities on learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas), education related technologies (e.g. Google for Education, Camtasia, Kahoot!), and instructional design (e.g. Quality Matters, Universal Design) (click here for more information).  Designers are available to answer a variety of education-technology related questions.
